Ten applications a month
While I was registered with the Swiss unemployment office, I had to submit ten job applications every month. The number stayed the same whether a role genuinely suited me or only vaguely did.
For the interesting roles, I did not want to send a generic application. That meant repeating the same work each time: read the advert carefully, find the relevant parts of my CV, change the emphasis, rewrite them and turn the result into a cover letter. A good application could easily take several hours.
The frustrating part was that the experience was already there. It just was not always in the place, or the language, that made its relevance obvious.
The first idea
I pictured a master profile containing everything once: roles, responsibilities, achievements and skills. Next to it sits a job advert. The tool connects the two and brings forward only what matters for that application.
That picture became Heyapply.
I started by uploading my existing CV and turning it into a structured profile. Then I built the core flow: understand the requirements in an advert, find the matching experience and use it to propose a CV and cover letter.
The line the product should not cross
Wording can become more confident. A relevant experience can move higher up the page. Heyapply must not invent a responsibility, qualification or achievement.
That is why the personal profile is the only source for claims about the applicant. The job advert decides what is relevant, not what suddenly becomes true.
The result may occasionally be less impressive. It is still an application I can stand behind.
Applying with Heyapply today

Where it still falls short
- The editor is much better on a laptop or desktop than on a small screen.
- Suggestions are only as good as the information in the profile.
- A relevant sentence can still sound unlike you. Everything remains editable for that reason.
